USALCO is seeking a Director of Digital Product to own the strategy, roadmap, and prioritization of Decision Blue® as a scalable digital offering. In this role, product refers specifically to the Decision Blue software platform and related digital capabilities, not USALCO's chemical products.
This individual is the voice of the customer. They translate USALCO's water treatment expertise, customer needs, plant realities, and field-service insights into a clear product vision and prioritized roadmap that Information Technology Development builds and delivers. Success in this role depends first on deep understanding of water treatment and the customer, and second on the product management discipline to turn that understanding into a well-defined roadmap.
This is a strategic role that works cross-functionally with Information Technology Development, Services Delivery, technical experts, and commercial teams to make Decision Blue the water industry's leading operator-centric treatment intelligence platform.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Product Vision & Roadmap Ownership

Own the Decision Blue product vision, roadmap, and prioritization.

Own the product backlog and prioritization process.

Define features and product requirements that express customer and market needs.

Define what success looks like for each feature from a customer and business standpoint, and partner with Information Technology Development, who own sprint execution, release cycles, and technical acceptance.
Customer Discovery

Conduct customer interviews and market research.

Work directly with treatment operators and utility leaders.

Validate Decision Blue market fit and customer value assumptions.

Identify emerging market needs.
-
Translate customer and internal discovery into roadmap decisions.
AI-Enabled Capability Definition

Identify opportunities for AI-driven decision support.

Define roadmap progression from analytics to predictive and autonomous operations.

Set the product requirements for AI capabilities and partner with Information Technology on AI governance and model validation, with model development and deployment owned by Information Technology.
Cross-Functional Leadership

Partner closely with Information Technology Development, Services, Marketing, and Commercial teams.

Balance customer requirements against technical feasibility in partnership with Information Technology.

Work with Services counterparts to align roadmap sequencing with delivery and speed to market.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to translate customer and field realities into product direction.

Experience owning a product roadmap, backlog, and prioritization for a software or digital product.

Strong customer discovery skills.

Communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to work closely with a development organization.
Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of SaaS product management experience.

Direct experience in water treatment, water or wastewater operations, or chemical process operations, with enough depth to represent the customer credibly to operators and technical teams.

Experience leading B2B software products and launching and scaling software.

Familiarity with Agile and Scrum ways of working.

Experience with data platforms, analytics, AI, or operational software.
