EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position supports highway and bridge maintenance by operating equipment, performing manual tasks, and following proper safety procedures. The work helps ensure safe and dependable travel throughout Butler County. As a Transportation Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:

Equipment Operation: Operate trucks, loaders, and other assigned machinery for maintenance activities

Tool Use: Use hand and power tools to complete tasks such as cutting brush, repairing guiderails, and clearing culverts

Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures, use protective gear, and report hazards or incidents immediately

Equipment Care: Perform inspections, make adjustments, and complete minor repairs to keep equipment in good condition

Labor Support: Assist with manual labor tasks including digging, mowing, patching, and installing signs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Travel, overtime, and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,988 (before taxes).
