We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Operations team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials and services are available to support production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Primary Responsibilities
The Buyer is responsible for procuring materials, components, and services necessary to manufacture Centorr products while achieving the best overall value in cost, quality, and delivery. Success in this role requires building strong supplier relationships and working collaboratively across multiple departments.
Essential Duties
- Create, issue, and maintain accurate purchase orders based on production requirements, inventory levels, and company objectives.
- Monitor supplier pricing, lead times, and performance while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement.
- Source materials, components, and services and identify and qualify alternative suppliers.
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve material shortages and expedite critical components.
- Coordinate with Finance to resolve invoice discrepancies and purchasing-related issues.
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively communicate supplier delivery issues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and technical prints.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred, but not required.
