Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cuts, styling, coloring, extensions, and treatments to meet each client’s unique needs.
- Provide professional advice on hair care, hair extensions, and hair coloring options based on client preferences and hair type.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations, including sterilizing tools like straight razors and implementing proper sanitation procedures.
- Utilize salon management software such as Meevo to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
- Engage in retail sales by recommending hair care products, upselling services, and promoting retail items to boost revenue.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their desired looks while providing professional guidance based on color theory and current trends.
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology license with experience working in the beauty industry.
- Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, coloring, styling, and hair extensions.
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
- Excellent communication skills for client consultation and team collaboration.
- Experience with retail sales strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry trends in hair care, color theory, and styling innovations.
- Preference given to stylists who already have a book.
