Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accounts payable functions to insure timely and accurate disbursements to vendors. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be a team player .
Responsibilities:
- Processes and researches vendor invoices according to Company policies on a daily basis for accurate and timely disbursement to vendors
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Coordinates with internal and external customers when issues arise
- Performs 2 –way or 3 – way matching
- Reconcile vendor statements by verifying invoices paid and researching past due invoices.
- Assist with the annual preparation and filing Federal 1099 reporting including obtaining vendor documentation
- Sort and match supporting documentation to invoices
- Provide recommendations on process improvements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of invoices, statements of account, receivables, payables and various forms of payment remittances
- Strong communication skills to engage with customers, vendors, and peers
- Strong research and investigation skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Three to six years ( or more) of Accounts payable experience is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Outgoing personality
