We are hiring Road Rangers for full-time and part-time driving positions within the Miami-Dade County highway system.
Join the Florida Department of Transportation’s Road Ranger Program, providing free roadside assistance on SR-826, I-75, and I-95.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned highway zones to monitor safety
- Assist disabled or abandoned vehicles
- Remove roadway debris and manage lane closures
- Provide basic roadside services: tire changes, jump starts, fuel delivery, minor repairs
- Support emergency responders at crash scenes
- Operate hand/power tools
- Work safely in varying weather conditions
- Lift up to 50 lbs
Requirements:
- Must be 23 years or older
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- High School Diploma or GED (must provide at interview)
- Valid Florida Driver License (CDL Class A/B )
- Clean background check
- NO Tickets in the last 3 years
- Must pass drug screening
- Access to a computer
- Able to adapt to a changing work schedule
- Must be able to perform physical job demands
- Comfortable working weekends and holidays
Schedule Options:
- Overnight Shift: 9 PM – 5 AM
- Full-time and part-time positions
Compensation:
- Paid training provided
- After training:
- CDL A/B License – $22.00/hr
- Class E License – $20.00/hr
