Do you love working with children and helping them become confident swimmers?
Arborland Education & Youth Activities Center is seeking enthusiastic, patient, and caring Swim Instructors to join our team. Our beautiful indoor heated pool allows us to offer swim lessons year-round in a comfortable, family-friendly environment.
Our swim program is designed to help children develop confidence, water safety skills, and strong swimming techniques in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. We are looking for instructors who enjoy working with children of all skill levels—from first-time swimmers learning to feel comfortable in the water to intermediate swimmers developing proper stroke technique and preparing for club swim programs.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging and safe swim lessons for children of various ages and skill levels
- Help beginning swimmers build water confidence and foundational skills
- Teach proper stroke mechanics, breathing techniques, and endurance to intermediate swimmers
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and nurturing learning environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during lessons
- Communicate professionally with school staff and parents regarding student progress
- Set up and put away instructional equipment
- Follow all pool safety procedures and emergency protocols
Qualifications
- Experience teaching swim lessons to children is required
- Strong swimming skills and knowledge of stroke development
- Patient, energetic, and enthusiastic when working with young children
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification, or equivalent
- Lifeguard Certification with CPR/AED and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience teaching both beginner and intermediate swimmers
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Approximately 3:00 PM–6:00 PM
- Hours will vary based on class enrollment and seasonal programming

Experience:
- Swimming: 5 years (Required)
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- Water Safety Instructor Certification (Preferred)
