The Carroll County Solid Waste Management Commission is seeking an energetic, organized, and forward-thinking professional to serve as our Education & Environmental Management Coordinator.
This is a unique opportunity to lead both public education efforts and our Environmental Management System (EMS) - including managing six active environmental projects and driving sustainability initiatives across the region.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as the Environmental Management Representative (EMR), lead the Commission’s EMS program, and coordinate six active environmental projects
- Research, identify, and secure grant funding opportunities for environmental programs
- Develop and deliver public education programs on recycling, waste reduction, and sustainability
- Work closely with local media, haulers, schools, and community organizations
- Track program performance and help improve environmental outcomes across the service area
- Support recycling and office operations
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Interest or experience in environmental programs, recycling, or sustainability
- Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and utilize new software applications
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $26-30 per hour ($54,000-$62,000 annually, depending on qualifications)
- Retirement: IPERS (Company contributes 9.44%)
