General Purpose: Maintenance Technician for Crider Foods' Canning Plant
Role Qualifications
Employee must have a high school diploma/GED and technical school training or equivalent work experience preferred. Strong abilities in mathematics are a necessity. Written and verbal communication skills required with a strong desire to lead by example and follow directions.
Position Responsibilities
Crider, Inc. requires all employees to comply with and support all Food Safety and Quality policies, programs and procedures to insure our products meet and exceed consumers’ expectation.
Technicians are responsible for ensuring that they complete preventative maintenance in a timely manner, perform daily checks, and maintain all equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Employee should be experienced in electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Advanced machine trouble shooting is desired as well as basic PLC and fabrication skills and meets the expectation of the previous level.
- Troubleshoot industrial manufacturing machinery and equipment such as switches and motors.
- Read electrical blueprints
- Troubleshoot AC/DC circuits
- Connect motors, starters, push buttons, relays and timers in motor control circuits and troubleshoot the control circerts
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Physical Demands: Employee stands frequently with tasks requiring consistent bending, stooping, kneeling or crawling to complete. Lifting occasionally of up to 50 pounds is required.
· Work Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme temperature conditions. Job locations are consistently 40 degrees or below. The noise levels at work are moderate to loud and hearing protection is required.
Food Safety Sign-Off: All team members at Crider Foods must adhere to our food safety requirements and must report food safety problems to management. All attempts should be made to ensure that the written and digital records are documented at the time the activity is performed, legible, clear, concise and suitably authorized (not falsified) by those undertaking monitoring (documented work tasks). This position is not responsible for the inspection and verification of records.
