Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently
- Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, powertrains, and electrical systems with precision and attention to detail
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex systems such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and automotive electrical components
- Execute vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and tire rotations
- Repair or replace diesel engines, transmissions, and other major components using power tools and hand tools
- Conduct wheel alignments and suspension adjustments to ensure vehicle safety and optimal handling
- Document all repairs performed in accordance with dealership or service center standards, including auto estimating processes
Skills
- Proven dealership experience with a strong understanding of automotive repair procedures
- Proficiency in reading schematics and automotive wiring diagrams for electrical troubleshooting
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics software and tools for accurate problem-solving
- Mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, brakes, steering, and suspension
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance instruments
- Experience working on GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not required
- Ability to perform diesel engine repairs along with general automotive service tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Auto estimating experience is a plus for accurate repair assessments
- Familiarity with ADAS calibration procedures and automotive electrical systems integration
