Position Summary We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Breakfast / Lunch Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing and executing breakfast and lunch service with consistency, quality, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate takes pride in scratch cooking, works well in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of hospitality and teamwork in a small, community-focused restaurant.
Responsibilities
● Prepare and execute breakfast and lunch menu items according to established recipes and standards.
● Set up and maintain an organized, fully stocked station before and throughout service.
● Execute dishes accurately, efficiently, and consistently during busy service periods.
● Prepare sauces, dressings, vegetables, proteins, baked goods, and other components as needed.
● Maintain proper food handling, storage, labeling, and sanitation procedures.
● Follow all food safety and health department standards.
● Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation throughout service.
● Communicate effectively with the chef and kitchen team regarding prep levels, timing, and special requests.
● Assist with daily prep, receiving, storage, and kitchen organization
. ● Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
● Assist with closing duties, cleaning, and proper breakdown of the kitchen.
● Minimize food waste and use products responsibly.
● Contribute to a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen culture.
● Be willing to assist other stations and team members when needed. Qualifications
● Previous professional kitchen experience preferred.
● Breakfast, brunch, or lunch service experience is a plus
. ● Strong knife skills and basic cooking techniques.
● Ability to work efficiently and remain composed during busy service.
● Strong attention to detail and consistency.
● Ability to follow recipes while understanding basic culinary fundamentals.
● Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
● Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
● ServSafe or other food-safety certification is preferred but not required.
Pay: $24.55 - $29.57 per hour
