Responsibilities
What you'll do as an Equipment Operator
- Safely operate heavy equipment including directional drills, mini excavators, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, vibratory plows, and other construction equipment.
- Perform underground excavation for the installation of fiber optic, coaxial, and other telecommunications infrastructure.
- Read and interpret utility locates, construction prints, and work orders.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
- Work safely around existing underground utilities while following company damage prevention procedures.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment between job sites.
- Work closely with construction crews to maintain production schedules and quality standards.
- Restore work areas following construction activities.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
- Travel and work overtime as business needs require.
QualificationsWhat you'll need
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating heavy construction equipment preferred.
- Experience in underground utility, telecommunications, or civil construction preferred.
- CDL-A preferred or ability to obtain.
- Ability to read construction prints and utility locates preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
