Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic healthcare team serving the Los Angeles area and surrounding communities. In this role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care, and assisted living facilities. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical histories, and physical examinations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions utilizing advanced clinical judgment; perform procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile processing when necessary.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Tebra, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations including interpret results for appropriate treatment planning.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and support patients remotely while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to ensure optimal patient outcomes within regulatory standards such as NCQA standards.
Experience
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice in California or relevant state licensing requirements.
- Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospitals (Level I/II trauma centers), emergency rooms, ICU or PICU settings.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Tebra or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for documentation accuracy.
- Experience in acute care settings including emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or urgent care clinics is highly desirable.
- Background in specialties such as geriatrics, behavioral health, infectious disease care, or palliative/hospice medicine is a plus.
- Knowledge of nursing home care, assisted living facilities, or working with individuals with disabilities enhances your ability to serve our diverse patient base effectively.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, medication administration, airway management, and vital signs monitoring are essential for success in this role.
