Job Overview
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, programming, testing, and support of electrical control systems for thermal processing equipment and systems. This role combines electrical hardware design with software development, including PLC/HMI programming, instrumentation selection, system integration, and controls testing. The Electrical Engineer works closely with project teams, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed according to contract requirements, technical specifications, and company standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on industrial equipment and electrical design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Release 12/13 or equivalent AutoCAD electrical design software.
- Experience designing electrical control systems, schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panels.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation, industrial controls, and automated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, contracts, and engineering documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities and Duties

- Review customer contracts, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Participate in contract kickoff meetings and project planning activities.
- Review customer specifications.
- Design electrical control systems for thermal processing equipment and related industrial systems.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, cabinet drawings, and shop/field wiring drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) for electrical systems and components.
- Select, configure, and integrate instruments, sensors, and control devices.
- Develop, modify, and maintain PLC and HMI software for customer applications.
- Create operating instructions and technical documentation for controls-intensive projects.
- Perform electrical panel inspections to verify compliance with design standards and specifications.
