We are seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Manager/Generalist to join our team. Reporting directly to the Practice Administrator, this individual will perform a variety of human resources functions while serving as a trusted resource for employees, managers, and physicians throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will be innovative, driven, solution-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
This position requires regular travel to all practice locations. Reliable transportation is required.
Responsibilities include:
- Handles the performance management process, providing day-to-day guidance to management and employees regarding coaching, counseling, career development, corrective action, and employee relations matters. Assists managers with the Annual Performance Evaluation process.
- Conducts workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, attendance concerns, and other employment-related matters. Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of human resources policies and procedures.
- Supports and administers human resources programs including new hire orientation, onboarding, employee engagement activities, regulatory training compliance, special events, employee recognition initiatives, and exit interviews.
- Administers, counsels employees on, and tracks various benefit and employment law programs and issues, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, Workers' Compensation, OSHA, HIPAA, COBRA, STD, LTD, and related compliance requirements.
- Serves as a point of contact for employee benefit-related matters, including claims resolution, employee enrollment changes, benefit communications, troubleshooting employee benefit portals, invoice reconciliation, and coordination with accounting.
- Manages the full recruitment and hiring process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, background and reference checks, offer administration, and onboarding activities.
- Partners with managers and department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies to attract and retain high-quality talent.
- Maintains and administers the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring data accuracy, reporting integrity, and system compliance. Experience with Paylocity is strongly preferred.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects organizational operations by handling sensitive and confidential information with the highest degree of professionalism and discretion.
- Monitors and assists with key human resources metrics, including turnover, retention, training completion, recruitment effectiveness, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to the administrator by providing practical recommendations and solutions related to employee relations, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and compliance matters.
- Assists the Practice Administrator with a broad range of administrative, operational, and special project responsibilities.
Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience required.
- Experience conducting employee investigations, disciplinary administration, leave management, and employee relations activities strongly preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare, physician practice, or multi-location organization strongly preferred.
- Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CCP, CEBS, CBP, or equivalent) highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including compliance and documentation requirements.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania and New Jersey employment law preferred.
- Experience utilizing HRIS/HRMS platforms required; Paylocity experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent customer service, employee relations, negotiation, conflict resolution, collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment while managing confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with staff, management, and physicians in a tactful, professional, and consistent manner.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to travel regularly between practice locations.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required.
- Flexibility to attend meetings, training sessions, and practice events as operational needs dictate.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
