Job Summary:
As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Pay Range:
Up to $50 per hour (based on factors such as Diesel Technician level, Chrysler certifications, and job performance).

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and engine overhauls.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery for repair or maintenance purposes.
- Conduct safety inspections on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards; perform heavy lifting safely during repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of work.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Vocational/Trade Certificate, High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Diesel training and Chrysler Dodge certifications are highly advantageous.
- Strong background in diesel repair, engine diagnostics, electrical systems, and diesel technician job responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation safely and efficiently; familiarity with heavy lifting procedures is required.
- Familiar with schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including air brake systems, alignments, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and follow technical manuals accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC, air brakes, electrical systems, and tire service.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools and service technician practices to identify issues quickly and accurately.
- Excellent hand tool skills along with the use of power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to vehicle maintenance including air brake systems and alignment procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance in-person at an automotive dealership. Scheduled shifts are typically 5-days per week, rotating Saturdays, and may include holidays.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Environment Demands:
Duties are performed primarily in the automotive service area. Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and the service manager.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
