Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, working the register and serving bakery orders, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and providing outstanding customer service. Your role is crucial in ensuring that each customer leaves with a smile.
Duties
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently while providing recommendations as needed.
- Handle cash transactions using the POS system, ensuring accurate cash handling practices.
- Monitor inventory levels of beverage supplies, assisting with restocking as necessary.
- Follow food safety and handling guidelines to ensure the highest quality of products served.
- Assist in training new staff members on café operations and best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or café environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Strong math skills for cash handling.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.
- Flexibility to work most Saturdays, as well as weekday shifts as needed.
- Flexibility to work most Holiday "Eves" (such as Wednesday before Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve, but the holiday is off)
