Job Overview

Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care strategies
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote social engagement and well-being
- Maintain detailed documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for each resident’s care plan
- Follow infection control procedures by cleaning and sanitizing resident areas regularly
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with first aid or CPR when necessary
- Support residents’ participation in group activities and community outings when appropriate
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Caregiver or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current credentials
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and memory care techniques
- Familiarity with medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or geriatrics is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, residents, and families
- Knowledge of EMR systems for accurate record-keeping is preferred
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties is a plus for home & community care roles
- Commitment to maintaining a safe environment through adherence to health protocols and safety standards
