Description:
Our long-term care facility prides itself on quality care for our residents - a large part of that care is based on the ongoing maintenance and safety of our building and equipment. The Maintenance Assistance is the expert in providing a safe and comfortable environment in our building so it can best serve the needs and safety of the residents.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Assistant will work directly under the supervision of the Maintenance Director to:
- Inspect and maintain the facility and equipment
- Perform all needed work/repairs that are in the scope of normal practice
- Maintain preventative maintenance logs
- Determine need and extent of service on equipment or building beyond routine maintenance
- Collect bids on a work order that requires specialty service/repair, obtain approval and supervise project
- Purchase building maintenance supplies, equipment and furniture within the company purchasing guidelines
- Prepare and be responsible for evacuation and emergency procedures
- Remain on-call for environmental or equipment related emergency situations
