Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our cleaning and custodial teams in maintaining a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff, ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and thoroughly
- Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to uphold cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement
- Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and manual handling techniques
- Schedule staff shifts, assign duties, and monitor performance to optimize productivity and morale
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to janitorial work, heavy lifting, and manual handling procedures
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and PPE, placing orders as needed to maintain operational readiness
- Address guest or staff concerns promptly, resolving issues related to cleanliness or safety with professionalism and urgency
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial roles with a strong understanding of janitorial processes
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a housekeeping or custodial environment is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, heavy lifting practices, manual handling safety measures, and the use of PPE
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and manual handling of cleaning equipment or supplies
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills to lead teams and interact professionally with staff and guests
- Certification or training in health & safety standards related to custodial work is advantageous
