Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with educational standards, including AP (Advanced Placement) program requirements and literacy education best practices
- Design interactive lessons that incorporate educational technology integration and learning technology tools to enhance student engagement
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and support students with special education needs or behavioral management challenges
- Facilitate classroom activities that promote creative writing, research skills, and social sciences understanding while fostering critical analysis of texts
- Conduct assessments, standardized testing preparations, and progress monitoring to evaluate student achievement and inform instructional adjustments
- Collaborate regularly with colleagues on lesson planning, instructional design, and curriculum development to ensure consistency and high-quality teaching practices
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and academic achievements to build strong home-school partnerships
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level, preferably with high school or private school settings
- Strong background in curriculum development, instructional design, and implementing IT-integrated lessons in diverse classroom environments
- Demonstrated expertise in literacy education, creative writing, journalism, linguistics, and the Chicago Manual of Style or AP style guidelines
- Experience working with teenagers across different learning styles and providing mentorship or tutoring to support individual student needs
- Knowledge of educational compliance regulations, standardized testing procedures, and assessment strategies for middle school students
- Familiarity with educational technology tools such as library services platforms, learning management systems, and multimedia resources
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, administrators, parents, and students alike
