Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have specialized experience and training in evaluating and treating pelvic floor dysfunction in diverse patient populations, including but not limited to women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and individuals across various stages of life. Our practice prioritizes patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and an inclusive approach to treatment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients presenting with pelvic floor dysfunctions such as pelvic pain, incontinence, dyspareunia, prolapse, post-partum recovery, and related conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and patient goals, using evidence-based interventions.
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques including, but not limited to, manual therapy, biofeedback, neuromuscular re-education, and therapeutic exercise to treat pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Provide patient education on pelvic health, anatomy, exercises, posture, and lifestyle changes that promote wellness and recovery.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, OB-GYNs, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to community outreach, education workshops, and awareness campaigns related to pelvic health, as needed.
- Stay current with best practices, industry research, and continuing education in pelvic floor therapy.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
- Valid state license to practice physical therapy.
- Specialized training or certification in pelvic floor rehabilitation (e.g., Herman & Wallace, APTA Pelvic Health, etc.).
- Minimum 3 of experience as a practicing physical therapist, preferably with experience in pelvic floor therapy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with prenatal and postpartum populations, as well as LGBTQIA+ individuals.
- Experience conducting telehealth appointments (if applicable).
