Position Summary:
An Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) provides rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment to patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions. The ED RN prioritizes care based on patient acuity, administers emergency treatments, monitors patient progress, and collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver timely, high-quality emergency care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on severity of illness or injury.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
- Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, and resuscitation efforts.
- Operate and monitor emergency medical equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Current BLS certification (required).
- ACLS certification (required).
- PALS certification (required or preferred, depending on the patient population).
- NIHSS Certification (required).
