Demand for vision care is on the rise and our practice is growing! We just hired a 5th doctor to join our private practice, and now we are looking for an Optician to support our patients in our New Ulm clinic. This position is full-time, 40hrs per week.

Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic, friendly, and detail-oriented Eyewear Specialist/Optician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, provide expert advice on lens options, and ensure a seamless optical experience. Your enthusiasm and knowledge will help us deliver outstanding service while supporting the overall success of our practice.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in choosing eyewear that meets their needs and preferences, ensuring proper fit and comfort
- Measure and verify prescriptions using optical tools and ensure accurate lens fabrication orders are entered into the computer
- Explain insurance benefits and available eyewear options
- Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear
- Collaborate with doctors and staff to provide a seamless patient experience
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear maintenance
- Maintain detailed medical records related to eyewear fittings and patient interactions in electronic health record (EHR)
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- High school diploma
Preferred:
- Experience working with EMR systems/medical software
- Previous optical experience or optician training preferred; laboratory experience is a plus
- Retail sales experience
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
