SCHROTH Safety Products LLC is a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative occupant protection and restraint systems for highly specialized aerospace, defense, and motorsport applications. We develop sophisticated technical solutions for customers in seats, seat belts, airbag technology, and crash safety.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer that will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and productivity. This person analyzes workflows, implements new technologies, troubleshoots production issues, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, cost‑effective operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
-Analyze, design, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and productivity.
-Develop and update process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
-Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives through process optimization, automation, and waste elimination.
-Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support to manufacturing teams.
-Design and specify new equipment, tools, fixtures, and production layouts to support operational needs.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations.
-Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
-Manage engineering change orders and support new product introduction activities.
-Train production personnel in new processes, equipment, and best practices.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering.
- 5 +years of experience in production environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production methods.
- Proficiency in CAD software and engineering design tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes.
- Experience with Excel and AutoCAD.
