Summary:
The Compliance Auditor supports the Compliance Officer and the overall Compliance Program. This position assists in the organization’s efforts to comply with all applicable state and federal laws, applicable regulatory guidance, internal and external polices and best practices. A focus of this position is to support the on-going auditing and monitoring of anesthesia related records from anesthesia practitioners. Other responsibilities will apply as needed.
Schedule:
Monday - Thursday, 8 am -5 pm and Friday, 8 am - 4 pm
Hybrid position, office days are Tuesday/Thursday/Friday and WFH on Monday and Wednesday
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Oversee 3 Coding Team Leads
- Under the direction of the Compliance Officer and others, conduct anesthesia chart reviews, auditing for completeness, quality, and billing purposes
- Manage and supervise anesthesia and procedural Coding Team Leads.
- Ensure accurate and timely coding for anesthesia-related services and procedures.
- Develop and implement coding policies and procedures.
- Conduct audits to identify documentation deficiencies and coding discrepancies.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to resolve documentation and coding issues.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and performance metrics; implement process improvements.
- Stay current with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and payer guidelines.
- Provide education and training to coding staff and clinical teams.
- Support integration of technology solutions (e.g., Epic EHR) for coding efficiency.
- Identify and report non-compliance issues; recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and communicate findings to management.
- Assist in developing and maintaining compliance programs and policies.
- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and healthcare laws.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience and leadership skills required.
- 2–5 years of experience in medical or surgical coding and auditing; anesthesia experience preferred.
- Certification: CPC, CCS, or AHIMA equivalent required. CPMA preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in presenting audit findings and conducting compliance training sessions.
- Experience with Epic or similar EHR systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
