About the Role
Channel Key is seeking a Senior Planner to serve as a strategic, client-facing partner across our brand portfolio. You will own bottoms-up demand forecasting across all channels we manage—and go beyond the model to tell clients what it means: where they're exposed, where the growth is, and what needs to happen to close the gap between plan and potential.
You will work as a core member of the account team alongside Channel Strategists and Marketing—bringing a planning perspective that drives decisions, not just supports them. This is a foundational role with real influence on client outcomes and the opportunity to help build Channel Key's planning practice as we scale.
What You'll Be Doing
Client Partnership & Strategic Planning
- Lead planning conversations with clients—presenting forecasts, walking through assumptions, and driving alignment on where the business is headed and why.
- Own the gap narrative: articulate the delta between client plan and projected performance, the drivers behind it, and the actions needed to close it.
- Proactively surface risks and opportunities—inventory exposure, velocity shifts, underperforming SKUs with upside, emerging demand signals—with a clear recommended response.
- Contribute a forward-looking planning perspective to monthly and quarterly business reviews.
- Create demand and buy bottoms up forecasting plans.
- Load plans into Channel Key’s database.
Demand Forecasting
- Build bottoms-up, SKU-level demand forecasts across Amazon 1P/3P, Walmart 1P/3P, DTC, and other managed channels.
- Develop models that account for seasonality, promotional lift, ASP changes, new item introductions, and marketplace-specific replenishment dynamics.
- Maintain rolling forecasts; track variance, identify root causes, and refine assumptions continuously.
Cross-Functional Growth Partnership
- Work closely with Channel Strategists to connect forecast data to channel strategy—informing decisions on pricing, promotions, and marketplace investment.
- Collaborate with Marketing to align promotional calendars with inventory availability and demand projections.
- Leverage Channel Key's Via AI platform alongside Intentwise and Excel/Sheets-based models to surface insights, identify anomalies, and accelerate analysis.
- Bring a planning perspective to new item launches, seasonal planning, and promotional events to ensure execution is grounded in realistic demand expectations.
What You Bring to the Table
- 5+ years of demand planning, inventory planning, or supply chain planning experience—consumer goods, retail, or eCommerce background strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in bottoms-up SKU-level forecasting with a track record of translating outputs into business recommendations.
- Client-facing experience; comfortable presenting to external stakeholders and holding a data-driven point of view.
- Strong instinct for proactively identifying and communicating risks and opportunities—you surface the 'so what' without being asked.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets; experience with Power BI or comparable BI tools.
- Familiarity with Amazon and/or Walmart marketplace dynamics, including 1P/3P structures and how they affect demand planning.
- Experience with Intentwise, Via, or comparable analytics platforms is a plus.
- Comfortable managing multiple accounts simultaneously in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
