Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Foundation Superintendent to oversee all aspects of foundation work on our construction sites. This role is responsible for supervising the daily operations of crews working on footings, grade beams, slabs, walls, piers, and other foundation elements, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the work of foundation crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
Develop daily and weekly work plans. Ensure work progresses according to schedule, specifications, and budget.
Ensure foundations are installed to project drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and resolve field issues promptly.
Enforce safety procedures and protocols. Lead daily safety meetings and monitor crew behavior to ensure a safe work environment.
- Material & Equipment Management:
Monitor inventory of materials, tools, and equipment. Coordinate deliveries and usage to minimize delays.
Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and inspectors. Lead, mentor, and evaluate foundation crew members.
- Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate daily reports, timesheets, safety records, and inspection logs. Report progress, issues, and incidents to management.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in concrete or foundation construction
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in foundations
- Deep knowledge of concrete forming, placement, finishing, and curing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient in construction safety standards and OSHA compliance
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites
- Experience with total stations, laser levels, and GPS layout systems
- Familiarity with project management software or mobile construction apps
- OSHA 30 certification is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor job site environments in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk for long periods, and navigate uneven terrain
- May require early morning starts, occasional weekends, and extended hours based on project needs
