Job Title: Legal Assistant- Litigation Group
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, Legal Assistant to provide senior level administrative support to attorneys and legal staff. The legal assistant will assist with case management, document preparation, client communication, scheduling, court filings, and maintaining accurate legal records. This role requires professionalism, confidentiality, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys and legal staff
· Prepare, edit, proofread and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings and reports
· Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, court dates, depositions and deadlines
· Maintain and organize physical and electronic client files
· Assist with state and federal court e-filing procedures
· Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors and outside agencies
· Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely follow-up on tasks and filings
· Conduct basic legal and factual research as requested
· Coordinate document production, discovery materials and trial preparation
· Process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and legal notices
· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information
· Assist with billing, expense reporting, and time entry as needed
· Support office operations and other administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
Required Skills & Competencies
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
· Prior experience in a law firm or legal environment mandatory
· Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal documentation
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and legal case management systems, eDiscovery platforms, and online court filing systems preferred
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Commitment to professionalism, discretion, and client confidentiality.
Work Environment & Schedule
· Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week.
· Occasional overtime may be required during periods of high workload, trial preparation, or litigation deadlines.
