JOB TITLE: Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader
REPORTS TO: Enhancement Division Manager
Position Overview:
The Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of contracted landscape enhancement and installation projects at assigned job sites. This position oversees landscape installations, irrigation system installation, subcontractor coordination, and related planning and administrative functions. The Crew Leader ensures all work is completed according to job plans, specifications, and G&G Landscape Solutions’ quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- supervise, lead, and train landscape installation crews while promoting a strong safety culture
- Execute the contracted scope of work for landscape enhancement and installation projects
- Read, interpret, and execute job plans and specifications accurately
- Perform hands-on installation work including
- Plantings, lawns, irrigation systems, and hardscapes
- Digging, tilling, planting, raking, watering, and final site clean-up
- Load and unload heavy equipment, tools, and planting materials from trucks and trailers
- Handle bagged and bulk landscape materials safely and efficiently
- Schedule, assign, and monitor daily work activities
- Plan, coordinate, and ensure proper collection of equipment and materials each day
- Conduct and participate in crew meetings, department meetings, and safety meetings
- Submit daily time and job information using required mobile or digital platforms
- Complete administrative paperwork accurately and on time
- Maintain truck and trailer cleanliness, organization, and standardization
- Utilize technology for communication, scheduling, and reporting
- Communicate daily with the Production Manager regarding job progress, needs, and planning
- Perform daily jobsite start-up and shut-down procedures
- Ensure job quality meets company standards and client expectations
- Manage labor hours efficiently and responsibly
- Safely operate company-owned vehicles with or without trailers
- Adjust irrigation controllers and demonstrate basic knowledge of irrigation components
- Maintain professional on-site relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors
- Ensure safe operation and routine maintenance of equipment
- Participate in snow removal operations during winter months, as required
Qualifications:
- Previous experience leading landscape installation or enhancement crews
- Strong knowledge of landscape installation practices, irrigation systems, and hardscapes
- Ability to read and follow job plans and specifications
- Demonstrated leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
- Minimum 3+ years of landscape maintenance experience, preferably in high-end or estate-level properties
- Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or field management role
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple projects
- Strong knowledge of horticulture practices and equipment operation (mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, sprayers)
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED WORK HOURS:
Full time - Hourly position. Minimum 40 hours per week.
