Job Description
A youth pastor/director develops and leads spiritual programs (grades 6-12), offering mentorship, Bible teaching, and counseling to students while building relationships with families. This is a part time position, but we do have office administration opportunities to add hours.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ministry Development: Create and implement a comprehensive, engaging youth ministry program that fosters spiritual growth, including weekly Bible studies, youth groups and worship.
- Mentorship & Pastoral Care: Provide guidance, support, and counseling to students, helping them navigate adolescence, and serve as a positive role model.
- Event Planning: Organize events, retreats, and community service projects to encourage fellowship and outreach.
- Family Partnership: Collaborate with parents, offering resources and support to assist them in the spiritual development of their children.
- Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage volunteer leaders for youth programs.
- Community Engagement: Connect with local schools and attend student events (sports, arts) to build relationships outside the church walls.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Spiritual Maturity: A strong, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, modeling Christian character.
- Experience & Education: Previous experience in youth ministry; a degree in theology or ministry is often preferred.
- Communication Skills: Ability to teach and preach effectively to teenagers.
- Leadership: Ability to mentor youth and lead a volunteer team.
- Safety Compliance: Thorough knowledge of safety protocols for working with minors.
Pay: $16,640.00 - $24,000.00 per year
