Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) specializing in clinic treatment and evaluations! Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of pediatric patients to identify developmental delays, sensory processing issues, and functional impairments.
- Develop personalized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs, goals, and family circumstances.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions focused on enhancing fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care activities (ADLs), and overall functional independence.
- Assist children with activities related to daily living skills such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and other self-care routines.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive treatment approaches and effective discharge planning.
- Provide education and training to families on strategies to support their child's development at home and in school environments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and case management activities in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in case management meetings and contribute to the coordination of care across inpatient, outpatient, school-based, home health, or skilled nursing facility settings.
Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L) credential with pediatric specialization.
- Proven experience working with children in clinical settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, early intervention programs, or inpatient facilities.
- Knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and developmental milestones.
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), disabilities, or post-acute care needs.
- Familiarity with assistive devices and adaptive equipment used in therapy sessions.
- Strong skills in discharge planning, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively with children across diverse age groups including infants through adolescents.
- Prior experience in acute care environments such as ICU or inpatient units is a plus; home health or skilled nursing facility experience is also valued.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging families and multidisciplinary team members; proficiency in speech therapy or related fields is advantageous.
