California Headstone Company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Memorial Care & Restoration Specialist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preserving and maintaining memorials throughout Southern California by providing professional cleaning, restoration, highlighting, and grounds maintenance services.
The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, respects the importance of memorial preservation, and understands the sensitive nature of working within cemetery environments. Experience in the cemetery, monument, memorial, landscaping, or granite industries is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and restore flat markers, upright monuments, benches, and memorial plaques
- Remove overgrown grass, weeds, dirt, and debris surrounding memorials
- Wash, polish, and enhance granite surfaces to restore appearance
- Re-highlight engraved lettering and artwork when needed
- Perform minor memorial maintenance and touch-up work
- Place flowers and seasonal decorations as part of memorial care services
- Photograph memorials before and after service completion
- Communicate professionally with management regarding completed services
- Safely transport equipment and supplies to cemetery locations
- Follow cemetery regulations and maintain respectful conduct at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cemetery operations, monument installation, granite fabrication, landscaping, memorial restoration, or related field preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service routes
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic smartphone skills for taking photos and documenting completed work
