Account Executive – Canusa Hershman Recycling Company

Canusa Hershman Recycling Company is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our fast-paced team managing recycled commodity shipments for domestic and export customers. This is a senior-level role for a candidate with deep industry knowledge who thrives in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
The successful candidate will own the day-to-day relationship with assigned suppliers and customers, coordinate shipments from order entry through delivery, and partner closely with our traffic, logistics, and trading teams to keep loads moving on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers and customers, building and maintaining strong working relationships
- Manage orders end to end: order entry, pricing, scheduling, dispatching, BOLs, carrier coordination, and tracking through delivery
- Coordinate domestic truck shipments and export container moves, including drayage, bookings, and vessel cutoffs
- Partner with the traffic team on appointments, reschedules, and carrier issues
- Triage incoming requests in real time and exercise sound judgment on prioritization
- Communicate proactively with suppliers and customers when changes occur, ahead of inquiry
- Resolve issues across departments efficiently, including credit, billing, and quality questions
- Collaborate with traders on customer needs, market changes, and account growth
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the recycling, paper, or commodities industry. Industry experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of cieTrade strongly preferred. Candidates with proven fluency in a comparable TMS (e.g. AMCS) will be considered, provided they can demonstrate the ability to learn cieTrade quickly.
- Export and container experience, including bookings, drayage, container moves, and export documentation
- Demonstrated dispatch and scheduling experience, including carrier coordination and appointment management
- Proven ability to prioritize and execute under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal communication skills, with a willingness to use the phone as a primary tool when warranted
- Strong written communication skills for professional correspondence with suppliers, carriers, and customers
- Self-directed work style; able to manage a full workload independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000 - $70,000 per year based on experience, plus annual performance incentive
Schedule: Monday through Friday. Availability during West Coast business hours is a plus but not required.
