Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert wound assessment, management, and treatment to promote optimal healing and improve patient outcomes. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive wound care services across diverse patient populations, including acute care, outpatient, long-term care, and specialized clinics. Your expertise will help advance healing strategies and ensure high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough wound assessments, including evaluating wound etiology, size, depth, exudate, and infection signs using advanced clinical techniques.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans utilizing evidence-based practices and innovative treatments such as debridement, dressings, and advanced therapies like botulinum toxin when appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families on wound management techniques, prevention strategies, and post-treatment care to empower self-care and adherence.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
- Stay current with emerging wound care technologies and research to continually enhance treatment protocols.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and OSHA standards while practicing sterile techniques like suturing or catheter care when necessary.
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner license with certification in wound management or related specialty preferred.
- Proven experience in wound care management within hospital settings, nursing homes, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, infection control protocols, and advanced wound healing techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as eCW or other for accurate documentation.
- Experience with complex treatments including IV infusions, debridement procedures, skin grafts, or laser therapy is highly desirable.
- Critical care experience or background working in ICU or trauma centers is a plus for managing complex cases.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, catheterization, and sterile dressing changes confidently.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
