Duties
- Assist veterinarians with examinations and diagnostic procedures. Administer medications, treatments, and monitor all aspects of anesthesia under the guidance of a veterinarian, including ECG, SpO2, EtCO2, and NIBP. Provide pre- and post-surgical care for patients. Handle and process laboratory samples for submission to local and offsite labs.
- Accurately obtain and relay detailed patient histories. Document records, treatment and diagnostics into Avimark, maintain accurate and detailed communication logs, handle department voicemail, client callbacks and documentation. Educate and communicate with clients regarding their pet's condition, treatment plans, review of estimates, and follow-up care. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files with treatment notes, and assist in client communication to ensure transparency and continuity of care.
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis. Prepare animals for surgery by administering anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining aseptic techniques throughout procedures. Manage radiography (X-ray) processes, including positioning animals properly and developing images for accurate diagnosis.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years veterinary technician experience is required.
Strong technical skills.
Attention to detail, with strong communication skills with clients and team members.
Fluency in multiple languages a plus
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices.
Experience with dental terminology and procedures to assist with dental cleanings and treatments.
Proficiency in animal restraint techniques, laboratory testing, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques. Excellent animal handling skills. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassion. Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician is preferred but not mandatory. Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
