Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- CPA or EA preferred
- Duties include but not limited to:
- - Bookkeeping for small businesses using QuickBooks Desktop
- - Prepare tax returns using Lacerte – individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, LLC, Nonprofit
- - Prepare payroll & sales tax return
- Desired Qualifications:
- - Excellent Communication Skills
- - Experience resolving tax notices from IRS and FTB
- - Can Work independently
- - Must have an experience with Lacerte
- - Must have an experience with QuickBooks Desktop
- - Knowledge of Excel and Word

- Job Type:
- Full-time or part-time
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including data entry, accounts payable and receivable processing, and bank reconciliations using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling customer service inquiries related to account transactions or billing issues.
- Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules in accordance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
- Support governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting practices as needed, including tax preparation and compliance documentation.
- Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with familiarity in accounting principles and governmental accounting standards.
- Strong technical skills in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with financial software like Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or Ceridian is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance requirements; prior experience with public accounting firms is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel for data analysis—and advanced spreadsheet skills including formulas and pivot tables.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet management.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions and team collaboration; experience in data entry and account analysis is essential.
- A background in payroll management, accounts payable/receivable management, or non-profit accounting will be advantageous.

Pay: $59,351.76 - $71,477.38 per year
