Experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal

We are a well-established, fast-paced bankruptcy law firm dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate financial challenges with compassion, professionalism, and exceptional legal service. We are seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Office Manager/Paralegal to join our team.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate has prior experience handling consumer bankruptcy cases, is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high-volume caseload while providing outstanding client service. This position requires someone who can work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.
Responsibilities
- Manage Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases from intake through discharge.
- Gather and review client financial documents.
- Prepare bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and other required court filings.
- File documents electronically through CM/ECF.
- Communicate with clients regarding required documentation, deadlines, and case status.
- Coordinate and prepare clients for 341 Meetings of Creditors.
- Draft routine pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Monitor case deadlines and maintain accurate case files.
- Communicate with trustees, creditors, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Maintain confidentiality while delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of bankruptcy paralegal experience (consumer bankruptcy preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy procedures.
- Experience with bankruptcy software such as Best Case, MyCase or similar.
- Experience using CM/ECF electronic filing systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a high-volume bankruptcy practice preferred but will consider other law firm experience.
- Familiarity with local bankruptcy court rules and procedures.
- Spanish, a plus but not required.
