Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and project specifications. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprints.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and maintenance.
- Work with low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high voltage equipment to support industrial and commercial projects.
- Conduct routine inspections using tools such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols in accordance with NEC standards while working on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Collaborate with other trades like frame carpentry and general contractors during construction or renovation projects to coordinate electrical work seamlessly.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections for project documentation.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical knowledge.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong background in construction site environments.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and NEC compliance standards.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration into industrial automation systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools needed for installation tasks.
- Experience with renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or modifications within existing structures.
- Knowledge of circuit testing devices like ohmmeters and familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to all OSHA regulations during project execution.
- Additional skills such as handyman experience or frame carpentry are considered a plus for versatile project support. Pay: $17.18 - $52.00 per hour
