Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-minded Vehicle Fluids Recovery Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely draining and disposing of all automotive fluids from incoming vehicles prior to dismantling. The ideal candidate will have basic mechanical knowledge, a commitment to environmental safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced yard environment.
Duties
- Drain and properly contain vehicle fluids including oil, coolant, fuel, transmission fluid, and other automotive liquids.
- Operate pumps, hoses, and collection equipment in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Inspect vehicles for leaks or hazardous materials before processing.
- Maintain accurate records of fluids removed and properly label storage containers.
- Keep the work area clean and organized to prevent spills or cross-contamination.
- Collaborate with dismantling and yard teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and fluids.
- Familiarity with hand tools, pumps, and safety equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to environmental standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Previous experience in automotive service, recycling, or hazardous materials handling is a plus.
