Inspired Functional Brands is looking for a Controller with proven experience overseeing accounting and financial operations. The Company is an innovator developing functional beverages targeting the immune system and gastrointestinal health. The Company currently has two products that it has recently started to distribute.
The Company is looking for a Controller who has worked in or overseen all accounting facets of a manufacturing company, with an emphasis in sales and inventory. This individual will initially be responsible for all transactions of the accounting department, including financial reporting & analysis, accounting operations, internal controls, budgeting & forecasting, and other projects, as necessary. The role will be involved in the selection and implementation of a robust accounting system. While the role will initially be an individual contributor, there will be the ability to hire additional staff as the Company grows. Reports to CEO and Executive Team.
Responsibilities:
· Managing daily accounting functions including the general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and closing process
· Maintain accounting records, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management
· Production and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP
· Participate in accounting software system implementation
· Manage the accounting and analysis of all revenue and gross-to-net processes
· Create detailed revenue reporting as needed for management purposes.
· Support senior management with analysis, review, reporting and other related revenue needs.
· Develop and adjust standardized costs for labor, materials and overhead.
· Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against standard/budget. Research and explain variances. Perform ad hoc product cost analysis to support the operations.
· Create and maintain process and procedure documentation, including inventory valuation and month end close
· Working with Purchasing Managers to optimize Inventory Management.
· Communicating and presenting financial results to executive and management team.
· Coordinating the budget process and providing forecasting to guide financial goals.
· Leading external audits and managing tax compliance.
· Assisting with the retirement plan benefits and working directing with Plan TPA.
· Other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- 2+ years of experience managing a team of 3 or more
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills
- High integrity and ability to manage confidential information
- Manufacturing accounting experience required

Pay: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
