Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Clinical Laboratory Secretary to join our Costa Caribe team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative and clerical support while serving as a key point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and internal staff. This role requires excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and inquiries
- Schedule home service appointments and coordinate laboratory services
- Register patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance information
- Maintain and update patient records in the laboratory system
- Process, file, and distribute laboratory reports to physicians and patient
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist with billing-related tasks
- Track specimens and coordinate with laboratory personnel to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain office supplies and support general administrative duties
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and professional reception area
Skills
- 1–2 years of administrative experience in a laboratory setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
