Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Qualified Support Professional (QSP) to provide direct support and supervision to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) participating in our services, including EIDBI (Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention) services.
The QSP will play an important role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and successful implementation of each individual's person-centered and individualized support plan. The QSP is responsible for providing direct supervision and support while maintaining the required 16:1 staffing ratio and ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with the individual's needs, service plan, program requirements, and applicable regulations.
This position requires someone who is comfortable working with individuals with ASD and who can provide consistent, respectful, and person-centered support. The QSP will also be responsible for overseeing assigned staff, monitoring service delivery, completing required documentation, and completing the required OD/observation session as applicable to the program.
Duties
- Provide direct support, supervision, and assistance to individuals with ASD in accordance with their individualized service plan and program requirements.
- Maintain and monitor the required 16:1 staffing ratio to ensure adequate supervision and safety.
- Provide appropriate supervision and guidance to staff working with individuals receiving services.
- Oversee staff performance and ensure that assigned staff are following the individual's support plan, behavioral strategies, safety procedures, and program requirements.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of services provided to individuals.
- Complete required OD/observation sessions and document observations, interventions, progress, and outcomes according to program requirements.
- Review, approve, and sign applicable clinical documentation and 97153 case notes in accordance with program requirements and agency policies.
- Ensure all required service documentation is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with agency policies.
- Support individuals with daily living skills, communication, social skills, community participation, and other individualized goals.
- Implement approved behavioral and developmental strategies as outlined in the individual's plan.
- Assist with identifying and responding appropriately to behavioral, emotional, and safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with families, guardians, supervisors, case managers, clinicians, and other members of the individual's care team.
- Report incidents, changes in condition, behavioral concerns, or other significant events according to agency policies and applicable requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy, dignity, and rights of individuals receiving services.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, supervision, and other required agency activities.
- Ensure services are delivered in a person-centered manner that promotes independence, choice, dignity, and community inclusion.
- Monitor staff adherence to required health, safety, emergency, and behavioral procedures.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing supervision of staff when assigned.
- Maintain professional boundaries and demonstrate respectful and culturally responsive communication with individuals and their families.
- Perform other duties related to the individual's services and program needs as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must hold an applicable professional license or credential that meets the qualification requirements for the position and applicable EIDBI program requirements.
- Must have at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience or training in examining, assessing, or treating individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or a related condition; OR provide documentation of equivalent graduate-level coursework from an accredited university in areas related to ASD, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, or related clinical practice.
- Must be able to provide documentation verifying the required 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience/training or qualifying graduate-level coursework.
- Must have demonstrated experience working directly with individuals with ASD and/or related developmental conditions.
- Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to oversee the delivery of individualized services to individuals with ASD.
- Must be able to provide clinical/program supervision and monitor staff implementation of individualized interventions and support strategies.
- Must be able to maintain and oversee the required 16:1 staffing ratio.
- Must complete required OD/observation sessions, service documentation, progress monitoring, and other required program documentation.
- Must be able to collaborate with families, caregivers, staff, case managers, and other members of the individual's interdisciplinary team.
- Must comply with all applicable EIDBI, DHS, licensing, documentation, health, safety, and client-rights requirements.
- Must successfully complete required background checks, agency orientation, and program-specific training.
