Job Summary:
Join the team at Gong cha - Dobie! This location is locally owned and operated by Texas Enterprise Alliance LLC, a family-owned, Texas-based business committed to building strong teams, maintaining high operating and brand standards, and creating welcoming guest experiences.
We are currently hiring for both Bobarista and Shift Lead positions.
Bobarista
Bobaristas create a friendly and welcoming experience for every guest. Responsibilities include:
- Taking and preparing orders accurately and efficiently
- Preparing beverages and food items according to Gong cha recipes and quality standards
- Learning menu items, ingredients, and customization options
- Operating the point-of-sale system and following cash-handling procedures
- Maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas
- Completing assigned cleaning, food-safety, and sanitation tasks
- Receiving, moving, and stocking ingredients, packaging, and supplies
- Working cooperatively with coworkers and store leadership
Prior restaurant, retail, beverage, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for friendly, dependable people who are willing to learn, work as a team, and provide excellent guest service.
Shift Lead
Shift Leads are expected to perform all Bobarista responsibilities while also helping lead assigned shifts and maintain store standards.
Additional Shift Lead responsibilities include:
- Directing shift activities and assigning duties
- Supporting, coaching, and training Bobaristas
- Monitoring guest service, order accuracy, product quality, cleanliness, and food safety
- Responding to guest concerns and helping resolve issues
- Completing and verifying operational, cash, inventory, and food-safety checklists
- Preparing and counting cash drawers and following cash-control procedures
- Monitoring inventory and assisting with receiving and stocking
- Opening or closing the store when assigned
- Communicating staffing, performance, safety, equipment, and operational concerns to management
We are looking for dependable, organized leaders who communicate well, remain calm in a fast-paced environment, and lead by example. Prior restaurant, retail, beverage, customer-service, training, or supervisory experience is preferred.
Schedule
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, opening shifts, and closing shifts, is preferred.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate established school and seasonal schedules while meeting the staffing needs of the store.
Physical and Safety Requirements
Both positions require prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending and reaching, repetitive hand movements, and the ability to lift, carry, and stock items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Employees work around boiling water, hot liquids, beverage equipment, cleaning chemicals, and wet or slippery surfaces. Essential job functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Food-Safety Requirements
Bobaristas must obtain and maintain required Texas food-handler certification within the timeframe established by the company and applicable law.
Shift Leads must obtain and maintain required Texas food-handler and food-manager certifications within the timeframe established by the company and applicable law.
