We are a growing, fast-paced interior decorating and design firm seeking an organized, proactive, and people-focused Human Resources & Operations Administrator to join our team. This position reports to the VP of Operations.
This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys balancing human resources, office administration, and operational support while helping create an exceptional employee and client experience. As a trusted partner to leadership, you'll play an essential role in recruiting top talent, supporting employees, coordinating office operations, and helping our business run efficiently.

What You'll Do
Human Resources
- Coordinate the full recruitment process, including job postings, candidate communication, interview scheduling, onboarding, and orientation
- Partner with department managers to support hiring needs
- Serve as liaison with local colleges and universities for internship programs
- Maintain employee records and confidential HR documentation
- Coordinate performance reviews, employee training, and policy acknowledgments
- Support employee relations while promoting a positive workplace culture
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Operations & Office Administration
- Manage day-to-day office operations to ensure a professional and efficient workplace
- Prepare workspaces, equipment, and supplies for new employees
- Coordinate meetings, calendars, travel arrangements, and company communications
- Assist the Vice President of Operations with reporting, scheduling, and project coordination
- Maintain office procedures and operational workflows
- Track business licenses, insurance certificates, and company documentation
- Serve as a communication liaison between management, employees, and clients
Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs including health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off
- Coordinate new enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and annual open enrollment
- Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions
- Liaise with insurance carriers and benefit providers
- Track employee eligibility and benefits through Employee Navigator
Safety & Workers' Compensation
- Coordinate workplace safety initiatives and OSHA-related documentation
- Schedule and monitor safety training
- Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes
- Partner with managers and insurance providers to resolve claims efficiently
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Operations, or related field preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of HR, administrative, or operations experience
- Experience in interior design, construction, architecture, hospitality, or other creative industries is a plus
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment compliance
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and HR/payroll software
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
- Professional, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining confidentiality
- Customer-service mindset with exceptional interpersonal skills

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based and requires regular interaction with leadership, designers, project managers, accounting, and clients. Occasional flexibility may be required to support company events, training, or operational deadlines.
