Employment Type: [Full-Time / Project-Based]Overview Seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) construction project. The SSHO will serve as the on-site safety authority and ensure full compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and project safety requirements. Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP) per EM 385-1-1
- Serve as primary on-site safety representative with stop-work authority
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits
- Review and manage Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training
- Investigate incidents and prepare required reports
- Maintain all USACE-required safety documentation
- Coordinate with USACE safety staff, project management, and subcontractors
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years construction safety experience, including USACE projects
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction
- Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1
- First Aid/CPR certified
- Ability to enforce compliance across all subcontractors
Preferred
- CHST, CSP, OSHA 510/500
- Federal or DoD construction experience
