Join our dynamic team as a Driller Helper, where you will play a vital role in supporting drilling operations across construction sites. You will assist skilled drillers in preparing equipment, handling materials, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Duties
- Assist drillers with setting up and operating drilling equipment safely and efficiently on various construction sites
- Handle and organize materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and other construction materials needed for drilling and testing procedures
- Support inspection of construction materials in accordance with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards and AASHTO standards to ensure quality compliance
- Collect data during testing processes, including concrete forming, soil testing, asphalt testing, and construction inspection activities
- Maintain accurate records of test results, data collection logs, and inspection reports for quality control documentation
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols during outdoor work activities to ensure a secure working environment
- Assist with basic math calculations related to measurements, quantities, and analysis of construction materials
Skills
- Previous laboratory experience or familiarity with construction materials testing is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting purposes
- Knowledge of concrete, asphalt, masonry, and construction site procedures enhances performance in this role
- Understanding of ASTM standards, AASHTO standards, and ACI (American Concrete Institute) standards related to construction materials testing
- Strong attention to detail for quality inspection and analysis of construction materials such as concrete, soil, asphalt, and masonry products
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately; numeracy skills are essential for data collection and analysis
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and teamwork on busy construction sites
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions is advantageous
- Familiarity with construction inspection processes including concrete forming, soil testing, asphalt testing, and general site supervision is a plus
