Chevrolet Parts Manager oversees the dealership’s parts department operations, including inventory control, wholesale program administration, and OEM warranty compliance. They drive profitability, manage staff, and collaborate with the service department to ensure a steady, accurate supply of GM genuine parts.
Responsibilities:
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
- Inventory Control: Forecast and order parts to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing obsolescence and maximizing inventory turnover.
- GM Programs: Administer OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) warranty policies, core returns, and return procedures to guarantee full factory credit.
- Shipping/Receiving: Oversee shipping and receiving efforts to ensure accurate parts labeling and timely processing of stock and special orders.
Leadership & Department Operations
- Team Supervision: Hire, train, and schedule parts counter personnel and warehouse staff to meet department and company goals.
- Budgeting & Profitability: Prepare and administer the annual operating budget, analyze financial statements, and price parts to maintain target gross profits.
- Cross Department Collaboration: Coordinate with service managers to supply parts for scheduled repairs, improving internal efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Sales & Customer Satisfaction
- Wholesale Parts: Develop and execute an aggressive wholesale parts program to generate additional revenue from local independent repair shops.
- Customer Service: Handle customer complaints in a timely manner and provide technical support to both retail and wholesale customers.
