ABOUT THE ROLE
The Quality Manager will own the end-to-end quality system for our new Mooresville manufacturing facility, ensuring every mattress cooler that ships meets Sleepme’s rigorous performance and safety standards. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain, you’ll stand up our quality infrastructure from the ground floor — building inspection processes, driving supplier quality, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. In your first year, success means achieving a fully certified quality management system, establishing key metrics (first-pass yield, customer return rate), and becoming a trusted partner to the production team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and maintain the site’s Quality Management System (QMS), driving toward ISO 9001 certification within the first 18 months
- Lead incoming inspection, in-process quality checks, and final product testing for thermoelectric cooling assemblies and integrated systems
- Manage CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes, root cause analysis, and non-conformance reporting
- Develop and maintain supplier quality programs, including audits, scorecards, and incoming material specifications
- Own quality KPIs — first-pass yield, defect PPM, customer return rate — and report trends to leadership
- Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering to embed quality into new product introductions (NPI) and design-for-manufacturability reviews
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 7+ years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Deep knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, SPC) and hands-on experience with electromechanical or consumer electronics product testing
- Strong communicator who can influence cross-functionally — comfortable presenting quality metrics to executives and coaching operators on the production floor
- Proficiency with quality tools and software (e.g., Minitab, ERP/MES quality modules, measurement systems analysis)
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
NICE TO HAVE

- Experience standing up a quality system in a greenfield or new-factory environment
- Background in consumer electronics, HVAC, medical devices, or other precision electromechanical manufacturing
- Familiarity with IPC standards, UL/ETL product safety certification processes, or thermal management systems
