Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Part-Time Senior Tax Accountant/CPA with expertise in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, and 1041. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual (Form 1040), partnership (Form 1065), and estate/trust (Form 1041) tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail
- Conduct thorough tax research to ensure compliance with current federal and state regulations, including updates in tax law and regulatory changes
- Assist clients with estate planning strategies, trust administration, and related tax implications
- Collaborate with clients to gather financial data, reconcile accounts, and analyze financial statements for accurate reporting
- Support internal teams with technical accounting issues such as GAAP standards, SOX compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Provide guidance on tax reporting for various investment vehicles, securities law considerations, and complex financial transactions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax software tools like Quicken and other financial software to streamline processes
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax obligations, potential savings opportunities, and compliance deadlines
Qualifications
- CPA certification or equivalent professional designation required; part-time availability preferred
- Proven experience in individual, corporate, partnership (1065), and estate/trust (1041) tax preparation and compliance
- Strong understanding of estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, securities law, and regulatory compliance accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms; familiarity with financial report writing tools is a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, technical accounting principles, and financial analysis techniques
- Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and asset management assessments
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to clients with varying levels of financial knowledge
- Experience working within public accounting firms or corporate finance environments is highly desirable
